HOW DOES IT WORK:
The WA Department of Transportation pays $28 from each plate purchase and renewal to the Washington State Wrestling Foundation (WSWF). These funds are then sent to Washington college teams for them to supplement their budget.
HOW ARE THE FUNDS ALLOCATED:
The WSWF Board of Directors vote on allotments each season. Teams eligible are: all athletic department (varsity) funded programs and intercollegiate competing club (student activity) funded teams.
Allotments for athletic department funded programs are weighted more heavily than student activity funded teams.
Other allotment factors considered: roster size, schedule, non-student coach(for club teams), etc.
The plates became available to purchase in January 2017.
From 2017-2020, 100% of revenue was allotted back to WA teams.
